Access to starting point:
a) From the direction of the Ljubljana–Celje motorway:
From the Ljubljana–Celje motorway we take the Trojane exit, then continue towards Zagorje. The road takes us through the V Zideh tunnel, after which we arrive at a junction where the road branches off to the left upwards towards the village of Šentgotard. At the end of Šentgotard we arrive at a junction where we continue left towards Prvine (right Čemšenik). A little further on we arrive at the next junction, where we go right, again towards Prvine (left Zaplanina). The road soon takes us to a new junction, where we turn left towards Prvine (right Čemšenik). We follow this road, which continues past the hunting lodge, to the parking lot near the ski center at Prvine.
b) From the direction of Zagorje ob Savi:
From Zagorje we drive through Kisovec and Izlake towards Trojane, but only to the point where the road branches off to the right towards Šentgotard. Here we turn right and ascend to Šentgotard, where at the end of the village we arrive at a junction. We continue left towards Prvine (right Čemšenik), then a little further on we arrive at the next junction, where we go right, again towards Prvine (left Zaplanina). The road soon takes us to a new junction, where we turn left towards Prvine (right Čemšenik). We follow this road, which continues past the hunting lodge, to the parking lot near the ski center at Prvine.
Route description:
From the parking lot at Prvine we bypass the nearby hotel on the left side, then the road takes us to the ski slope of the Prvine ski resort, from where a beautiful view opens up. Here we leave the road and continue the ascent slightly to the right onto a cart track. It ascends transversely across the ski slope, then enters the forest, where it gradually turns into a wide path. This is followed by a few minutes of moderate ascent through the forest, after which we reach a wide cart track, along which in a few steps we arrive at a marked junction.
Here we continue straight ahead (sharp right and downhill lead to Izlake, Čemšenik and Kisovec) along the path that gradually leads to the edge of steep grassy slopes. The path along the edge offers us beautiful views of the surrounding places and nearby hills. Higher up, the path levels out and crosses steep slopes, over which we walk in a few minutes to the Koča na Čemšeniški planini.
