Access to starting point:
We reach Hungary via the Lendava - Pince motorway and continue towards Budapest. We leave the motorway at the Becsehely exit.
We then drive towards Bak, Zalaegerszeg. When we arrive in the town of Pusztaszentlászló, we park somewhere in a suitable place (there are plenty of parking spaces near the thermal baths, which are approximately 10 minutes away from the starting point).
Path description:
The trail starts at the monument in the settlement of Pusztaszentlászló. We proceed parallel to Újhegy street (New Hill). The path becomes steep right at the start and leads through vineyards, soon reaching a hill above the settlement where a nice view of the surroundings opens from the viewpoint.
The path continues into the forest, through which we walk for about 2 minutes, then we begin an easy descent along the cart track beside the pasture.
When the pasture ends, we go left uphill to the path paved with concrete slabs (right leads an unofficial shortcut). The path continues along the forest. When we reach the saddle, we turn right again and descend to the ridge, with the path turning south.
The path further leads to a clearing, where at the junction there is only one tree, from which we continue downhill, though straight ahead seems logical. During the descent, we pass a tall tree that can serve as orientation since there are no markers due to the clearing.
The path then ascends more steeply and we reach a junction where the path from Šatorovca / Söjtör joins from the left.
We continue right and leave the forest again, with a fence and nice view appearing on the right.
A bit more walking with a slight ascent and we reach the summit of Hahót hegy.
