Radlje ob Dravi - Castle Stari grad above Radlje ob Dravi (Mahrenberg)

Access to starting point:
From the road Dravograd - Maribor, in Radlje ob Dravi, from the crossroad at the Lidl store, we drive in the direction of the center of the settlement and Radeljski prelaz. After the crossroad, we also drive past the Hofer store and past the turn-off of the road to the left towards Sv. Tri Kralji, and at the next crossroad left towards Austria. Immediately after the crossroad, we go left again and park on a larger asphalt parking lot near Dvorec Radlje.

Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue towards the east, where we first carefully cross the main road Radlje ob Dravi - Radeljski prelaz, and on the other side of the road the path splits into two parts.
We can continue left on the forest and historical trail Stari grad, or straight on the trim trail. Both paths are well marked and higher in the forest they join and then cross each other a few times, higher they run on the same route. Higher, the path turns left and transitions to a somewhat steeper slope, where it is fenced with a wooden fence, and when the fence on the left ends, it splits.
Straight leads the path on which we quickly join the European footpath E6, but we continue sharply right in the direction of the learning trail and trim trail.
A little further, we reach a wider cart track, where the trim trail turns left (also the learning path, only that it first leads to the old castle Stari grad), and we continue right in the direction of the old castle Stari grad or castle Mahrenberg. For a short time, we walk on the cart track, and then signs for the ruins direct us left onto a footpath, on which we quickly arrive at the ruins and from where some view opens up on the Drava Valley.
