Access to starting point:
We drive to Rogašovci, then continue driving towards Kuzma. Behind the settlement Sotina, the road towards Kuzma turns right into the hill, but we continue straight towards Austria. While driving in Austria, we first follow the signs for Jennersdorf, Güssing, then to the settlement St. Michael im Burgenland, where we turn right towards the settlement Großpetersdorf. Behind the mentioned settlement, we reach the main road Sombotel / Szombathely - Oberwart / Felsőőr, which we follow to the right towards Hungary. We leave the mentioned main road at the exit for Rechnitz, then drive to the mentioned place, where we follow the signs for Badesee. We park about 100 m before the lake on the arranged parking lot next to the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot we walk to the lake, then continue along the left, western side of the lake. When we arrive at the other side of the lake, a path branches off slightly to the left towards the chapel of St. Donatus / Donatikapelle, but we continue along the northern side of the lake to the junction by the inn, where we go left (right returns to the starting point along the eastern side of the lake).
The path ahead leads along a gentle road, where we bypass a larger tower on the right side, walking along the Rechnitzbach stream. After some time the road forks, and we continue along the right road, next to which there are signs for Geschriebenstein. We then ascend moderately, at an altitude of just over 500 m the road turns sharply left and enters the slope. We continue walking on the gravel road, at some junctions following the yellow-red markers. When the path levels out we pass a weir, then gently descend to a small saddle, where for a short time we continue along the same track as the forest bike path. The bike path then continues along the ridge, while we continue slightly right and descend a little further on the track. Several traversals in a slight ascent follow and we reach a poorer gravel road, along which we continue to the nearby junction.
From the junction we go straight onto the track, a little higher we notice rare markers along the path. Higher up we step onto another road and follow it briefly to the left, from it we quickly go right and cut the right bend. When we return to the road we cross it transversely, then continue through a somewhat overgrown section, where we reach a track and follow it to the right. A few more junctions follow, where we follow the rare markers and reach a wider path, where we join the path that starts at the Geschriebenstein Passhöhe pass.
Here we go right and with a slight to moderate ascent reach the summit in a few minutes of further walking, which is located on the border between Austria and Hungary.
