Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the asphalt road in the direction of the Hotel Bellevue, from which soon a marked path to Rodica branches off to the left, but we follow the road almost to the already mentioned hotel. Just a little before the hotel, signs for Rjava skala, Vogel and Šija direct us left onto a wide path, which soon splits into two parts. We continue on the right marked path, which after a short ascent brings us to a larger meadow.
The path ahead returns to the forest, and at the next junction we choose the slightly left path (direction Vogel), which then changes from a cart track into a footpath that ascends along the edge of the meadow. Above the meadow, the path goes back into the forest and gradually begins to ascend more steeply. For some time, we ascend relatively steeply through the forest, then it thins out and the path brings us to a wider cart track and just a few meters further to a macadam road. We follow the road to the left, walking on it for only about 30 meters, then signs for Vogel direct us right onto a footpath that begins to ascend more steeply through the forest. Higher up, we join a tractor track, which soon splits into two parts. We continue on the right marked path, which soon brings us to a forest road that we merely cross.
The path ahead ascends through a belt of shrubs and a short panoramic slope, then passes into dense forest, through which we ascend for quite some time. Higher up, we reach a smaller avalanche cirque below Storeč vrh, which we bypass in a semicircle to the right. On the other side of the cirque, the path ascends steeply and brings us to the Vogel plateau. Here the path continues with some shorter descents and ascents, and we soon arrive in the immediate vicinity of the ski area.
A little further on, the path splits, where the path to Šija branches off to the left, but we continue right in the direction of the Ski Hotel on Vogel. After a short traverse and then a gentle ascent, we arrive at the already mentioned hotel.
At the Ski Hotel, we head west and continue on the macadam road that passes the mountain hut Merjasec. The road begins to descend slightly and brings us to a junction. We take the right road following the signs »Komna, Sirarna Zadnji Vogel«. The road continues to descend slightly and soon we are at another junction. This time, we take the left road following the signs »Pl Zadnji Vogel, Komna«. Already after a few dozen meters of ascent, the inscription on the rock (Vogel) directs us onto a footpath that goes right into the forest. The path through the forest runs parallel to the road and begins to descend slightly. When we rejoin the road, we continue following the signs »Pl. Zadnji Vogel«. The road then crosses the Zadnji Vogel cableway and brings us to the junction at Sirarna Zadnji Vogel.
We continue straight past the sirarna following the signs »Komna« (to the left, the path to Vogel branches off). The path then brings us through the dwarf pines into the forest and begins to descend slightly again. To the right, a path branches off leading down the valley towards the Hotel Zlatorog, but we continue on the left path, which soon takes us out of the forest and beautiful views open up to the surrounding peaks. Here the path begins to ascend again and runs mostly over grassy terrain surrounded by sparse dwarf pines. The path slowly begins to turn left and brings us to a junction. To the left, the path leads towards the Globoko saddle (1828 m), but we continue right towards Konjsko sedlo. Here we begin to ascend up the left side of the valley, with the finest views of Konjski vrh and Bohinjski Migovec. When we reach Konjsko sedlo, we continue left following the signs »Vogel«. The path then crosses the slopes below the peak Meja (1996 m). As we begin to approach the neighboring peak – Rušnati vrh (1915 m), the slopes above us will become somewhat less steep. Here we leave the marked path and begin to ascend up the scree to the right. The slope becomes quite steep, but we reach the ridge without scrambling slightly to the right of Rušnati vrh. On the ridge, where we come to an unmarked track, we continue left and reach Rušnati vrh in a few minutes over grassy terrain.
