From Nova Gorica, we drive towards Tolmin or vice versa, follow the road to Ročinj, where we park at the appropriate place.
Path description:
The beginning and end of the path is at the church of St. Andrej in the center of the village, where a signpost shows two directions: western and eastern. For the path upwards, the western one is recommended, because it is steeper. Further, the path leads past the spring Zdenc, and then we ascend along the old path to Kambreško to Preval (339 m). If we have enough time, we can also visit the church of St. Pavel, from where there is a nice view on the village Avški kot, then we descend to Preval, where we cross the road Ročinj - Kambreško and soon come to an old path, which led to Srednje. We continue upwards along it to the point where we leave it and ascend to the right upwards to the summit Čičer. Here await us the summit logbook and a stamp, a little below the summit also a bench with a view on Soča, Kanal and further through the valley, in clear weather to the sea.
We return further along the ridge, then turn right downwards towards Ročinj. A little above the village we come to a viewpoint on Ročinj (first written mention of the place dates to the year 1083), from here it is still five minutes to the starting point.
The circular path to Čičer has one more additional dimension, namely horticultural, as there are 34 signs along the path with the names of trees in Slovenian and Latin.
