Selo (log cabin TIC Selo) - Sveti Benedikt (Kančevci)

Access to starting point:
From the road Murska Sobota - Moravske Toplice, we drive to the settlement Martjanci, from where at the intersection we turn left in the direction of Sebeborci (from the direction of Moravske Toplice right). Further on, we drive through Sebeborci, Andrejci, Fokovci to Selo, where the road starts descending. Lower down, we cross the Kobiljski potok stream and only a little further we arrive at the parking lot at the log cabin TIC Selo, where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the log cabin, where there is a stamp of the extended Slovenian mountain trail, from there we continue on a well-maintained walking path, on which in a few minutes we arrive at the rotunda of St. Nicholas in Selo.
From the rotunda, about a dozen steps further towards the nearby cemetery, then we go slightly left and descend slightly to the nearby pond, where we step onto the asphalt road. We follow the road to the right and begin to ascend it, during the ascent we are accompanied by occasional educational signs of the Geographical Educational Trail Selo. A little further we arrive at a hamlet of a few houses, where there is the fruit-growing farm Filo. Here the road turns right and a little further becomes macadam, leading us through a larger orchard. When the orchard ends we enter the forest, where a few steps from the path is Makotrov breg, we continue left in the direction of the Pomurje mountain trail. In the forest, the road temporarily changes into a cart track, after some time it changes back into a poorer road. When we leave the forest, we reach a road junction, we continue in the same direction and with the path continue on the asphalt road. At the hamlet Gospodov Breg, located somewhat to the left of the path, the road loses its asphalt surface, but continues still in approximately the same direction. A little further the path enters the forest, somewhat further to the right side the forest is replaced by a larger field. When we return to the forest we leave the road and continue slightly right on the marked footpath, which continues briefly along a trail, soon returning to the road, which we follow to the right. The macadam road brings us in a gentle descent to an asphalt road, which we cross carefully and continue with the path along the trail through the forest. A little further we reach a second asphalt road, where we join the marked path from Moravske Toplice, and we follow the road to the right. In a gentle ascent we quickly leave the forest, then with nice views reaching to the eastern part of the Karawanks, in a few minutes we arrive at the church of St. Benedict in Kančevci.
