Šentviška Gora - Bukovski vrh

Access to starting point:
From the road Idrija - Most na Soči, in the settlement Slap ob Idrijci we turn right (from the direction Most na Soči sharply left) in the direction of settlements Ponikve, Šentviška Gora and Pečine. Further on, we begin to ascend, at the crossroads we follow the signs for Šentviška Gora. When we arrive at the mentioned settlement, we park at a suitable spot near the parish church of St. Vid.

Route description:
We bypass the church on the right, the cemetery on the left side and continue on the asphalt road in the direction of Gorski Vrh. After the last houses, the asphalt ends, and the gentle road gradually becomes a little steeper. Higher up, the road makes two hairpin turns and brings us past the chapel to an asphalt road, which we follow to the right. We ascend the asphalt road for a few minutes, then from the intersection continue left in the direction of the village Ponikve and Gorski Vrh (straight Bukovski Vrh and Police).
After the intersection, the road temporarily flattens, then it starts to ascend more steeply and leads us past the homestead Travnikar, a little higher bringing us to the next intersection.
To the left the road continues towards the settlement Ponikve, straight ahead a path leads to Črvov vrh, and we go right in the direction of the settlement Bukovski Vrh and Bukov gaj. Further on, we walk on the macadam road, which a little further leads us past another house, then we ascend to a small saddle, from which we continue straight down (left Bukov gaj and Črvov vrh). There follows a descent with nice views, a little after the hairpin turn we gradually arrive at the partly marked intersection, from which we go left.
Immediately after the intersection we arrive at the next intersection from which we go right, then the crossing to the homestead pri Pircu begins.
We bypass the buildings at the homestead on the left side, then step onto a grassy path which continues between pasture fences. When we reach an indistinct ridge, we continue along the pasture fence which leads along the ridge and in a few minutes of further ascent reach the panoramic Bukovski vrh.
