Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Koper we take the exit Divača and follow the road ahead in the direction of the villages Lokev and Lipica. The road then quickly brings us to the village Lokev, where at the end of it we will come to a crossroads, where a road towards the cave Vilenica branches off to the right. We turn onto this road and follow it past the turn-off for the cave Vilenica and Lipica. At the road sign 2km we will on the right side notice a few houses and behind them (immediately after the concrete fence) a road which from the main road branches off to the right (the turn-off is located still before Sežana). We turn onto this road along which we then park.
To the starting point we can also come from the direction of Sežana.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road which at first only gently ascends, mostly through the low forest. The still gentle road higher up makes a few sharp turns and then brings us to a smaller saddle, where there is a crossroads of several smaller cart tracks.
We continue slightly left (right Marče) on a wide cart track to which a little higher joins the path from Novo naselje above Sežana. For a short time the concreted road then through the forest and bushes brings us to a partly panoramic peak on which there are a few transmitters and the Sežana water supply.

True, the Atlas of Slovenia says Zidovnik, but when asking locals in Sežana about it, everyone looked at me like I was from Mars... "No Zidovnik here..."
and similar... then I found out locals call it Sedovnik.
If locals say so, it's right!

From Sežana to Zidovnik (Sedovnik), there has long been a marked hiking trail that joins at the workers' university (this is also the start of the Srečko Kosovel trail from Sežana to Tomaj) and continues over two railway overpasses, and at the roundabout left past the kindergarten and immediately after the kindergarten right to the former village watering place for livestock (now converted into a children's playground) and further uphill along Pod Sedovnik street to the water reservoir. Here the asphalt path turns into a trail, which after about ten minutes of walking joins a forest road. A little more and we find ourselves in a clearing, where the path from the new settlement also leads us, and above us we see antennas on the top of the hill. The trail is fairly steep and quite rocky further on. Another ten minutes and we are at the top of Sedovnik. Walking along the described path takes about 45 minutes. The path from the previous description is not marked... The car can be left in the parking lot where the trail starts.
