Skrilje - Source Skrivski izvir (Skrlanka)

Access to starting point:
A) We drive on the highway from Razdrto towards Nova Gorica and take the Ajdovščina exit. Then at the intersection we turn left towards Nova Gorica and drive on the main road through the village Cesta; after one kilometer we turn into Skrilje, then we follow the signs for the primary school, where there is a parking lot.
B) From the direction of Nova Gorica we take the Selo exit; after Dobravlje we turn at the second junction left into Skrilje.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we go straight along the road between the primary school and the church, then keep to the right. Skrlanka starts at the intersection (150 m west of the church), where a grassy cart track branches off from the asphalt; there is the first path sign (wooden arrow with blue letter "S"). After the initial flat section, we continue over a concrete bridge, where we turn right, and the path begins to ascend gently. We follow the path that winds through the forest; before leaving it we reach the point where the circular part of the path begins. All the time we follow the signs, which here direct us straight ahead; soon we turn left uphill, past cultivated areas we leave the narrower village area. After a few minutes of ascent we reach a cart track junction, where the arrow directs us right and immediately left uphill towards the village Stomaž. The ascent is mostly moderately sloped, with intermediate flat sections; the environment is diverse, from forest and hay meadows to cultivated areas. At the height of the village Stomaž, which appears on the right, we are accompanied on the path by some interesting wooden structures, then a somewhat steeper section begins, which runs mostly through forest, with one larger meadow in between; after it the last ascent awaits us before the path branches left from the cart track – through a wooden fence and then to the left along the former plot boundary. Immediately after, we are at the arranged spring, where there is also the logbook; from here the path crosses another stream and goes onto a meadow, where a gentle descent begins. The path here is very comfortable, the environment is all the time diverse and mostly pristine. By carefully following the signs we will approach Skrilje without problems; towards the end there is also a prominent footbridge over an occasionally dry stream, and a short ascent, after which we cross a macadam road and continue across the meadow one last time into the forest, towards the point where the circular part ends.
The last 500 m we return along the same path as at the beginning. The path is suitable for everyone, in all seasons, and can also be a nice starting point for ascents to Čaven, Mala gora or Kucelj.
