We drive to Preddvor or to the settlement Tupaliče, then we continue driving in the direction of the settlement Zgornje Jezersko. Just a little behind the road sign that marks the end of the settlement Spodnje Jezersko, at the end of the hamlet we turn left in the direction of the GRZS learning center, tufa quarry, partisan hospital Krtina... Further on, we drive through the valley of Komatevra, and along the path we can observe numerous rapids and waterfalls of the river Kokra. A little before the supplementary board of the traffic sign, which from 20.7. to 20.10. prohibits further driving, we park on the parking lot beside the road.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on a macadam road, and it quickly brings us to a smaller crossroad. We continue on the wider, slightly left road, by which there is a gate and which continues along the river Kokra. The road higher up makes two hairpin turns and brings us to a marked crossroad below the abandoned homestead Robnik (on some maps also Robenik).
From the crossroad, we continue on the left road in the direction of the partisan hospital Krtina and Komatevra valley (slightly right GRZS learning center on Virnikova planina), and along the path we soon notice a warning that we have entered the brown bear habitat area. The path ahead leads us over a wooden bridge, then the signs for partisan hospital Krtina direct us right onto a footpath that continues along a smaller stream. Already after a few more steps we arrive at the information board of the partisan hospital Krtina, then over two small bridges and past a table with benches we continue another 10 or so steps along the stream, then the footpath leads us slightly right up a steep slope, where we ascend with the help of steps. The path soon turns right and brings us to the renovated partisan hospital, which was built in September 1944 and burned down in January 1945.
Description and pictures refer to the condition in January 2020.
