From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we take the exit Lesce, and then we continue driving towards Bled. Still before Bled we notice signs for camp Šobec, which direct us left onto the road, along which we quickly arrive at a large parking lot, which is located before the entrance into the camp. The parking lot or the last part of the road is payable during part of the year. During the high summer season, the entrance into the camp or access to Šobčev bajer is also payable.
Path description:
From the starting point, we walk to the western part of the camp, where over the bridge we cross Sava Dolinka. After the bridge, we continue left in the direction of Talež and Bodeški most (right Koritno and Bled) on a cart track which continues through an extensive meadow. When we walk through the meadow, a nice view opens up on the Karavanke when we look back, and we follow the cart track to the spot where it passes along the edge of the forest and starts to ascend. On this part a worse cart track branches off to the right, which starts ascending transversely to the right. There follows a few-minute transverse ascent through the forest, then we step out of the forest onto a longer plain, over which with nice views we walk to the village Bodešče, which we reach at a longer hayrack.
We continue past a few houses and we are already at the first crossroad, where we continue straight in the direction of the church of St. Lenart. The path ahead leads us through the village and quickly brings us to the next crossroad. We again continue in the direction of St. Lenart and Gradišče, and on a gentle road in a minute of additional walking we arrive at the already mentioned church.
From the church, we continue along the road ahead in the direction of Gradišče; we leave the road a little further, still before the last house in the village, and continue left on the path. The path ahead ascends through a narrow belt of low forest and passes to the other side of the hill, where a few meters below the summit it crosses relatively steep slopes above the Sava Bohinjka. After a minute or two of crossing, the path turns sharply to the left and passes onto the ridge, along which we quickly ascend to the panoramic peak with a cross and bench.
