Sommeralm - Osser

Access to starting point:
Highway A2 Graz - Vienna / Wien we leave at the exit for Gleisdorf West, and then we follow the signs for Hartberg and Weiz, and later only Weiz. Through Weiz, we follow the signs for Passail. For the gorge Weizklamm, we turn right from the main road towards Sommeralm and surrounding settlements (straight for Passail). The road gradually starts ascending significantly, and we follow the signs for Sommeralm. Higher, we pass the cottage Stoakoglhütte, and a little further we reach the parking lot by the road to Sommeralm, where we park.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road ahead and arrive at the settlement Sommeralm, where we pass by a few houses. At the end of the settlement, when the road turns right, we go near the chapel to the left onto a side road, which leads us past a holiday cottage, then enters a strip of forest, where on the left, eastern side, we cross the peak Saukogel (14374 meters). When we leave the forest a little further, a view opens up on Bründlkogel (1436 meters), and the path splits.
We continue right in the direction of Teichalm and the inn Holzmeister (left Passail), where we bypass a hill with three crosses on the right side. The path ahead gradually starts to descend gently and crosses some grazing fences. The path ahead leads us past the self-service bar Wander Bar, and at several successive crossroads, we follow the blazes or signs for Teichalm. After crossing the 1409-meter-high peak, which is the highest peak of the Siebenkogel ridge, we leave the strip of forest and arrive at the mentioned ridge, where the path leads us over, or slightly below, some indistinct peaks, mostly descending gently to moderately. Later, we start descending more noticeably and arrive at a crossroads by the cross Schwoabauerkreuz, which is located on a saddle northeast of the peak Osser.
We continue straight (left to the source Raba / Raabursprung in Passail, right to the inn Holzmeister) and begin ascending a grassy slope. A little further, we cross a grazing fence, and the path becomes slightly steeper. The path ahead leads us past a wooden cottage, which we bypass on the left side, and we begin ascending diagonally to the left, where the path follows a cart track. Higher up, signs direct us to the right onto a marked pathless terrain, where we steeply ascend to the edge of the forest, and after crossing a grazing fence, a footpath reappears. The path ahead becomes quite steep and mostly leads through the forest. After the second crossing of a rough road, the path gradually flattens, and the forest starts to thin out. This is followed by a short, easy ascent, and we arrive at a panoramic summit where a cross stands.
