Spodnja Kokra - Hotel Krvavec

Access to starting point:
From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, we take the exit Kranj - east and follow the road ahead in the direction of Zgornje Jezersko. In the village Kokra, at the road sign between 10.5 and 10 km, a road towards Spodnja Kokra branches off to the right downwards (by the crossroad there are also signposts). Immediately after the road crosses the river Kokra, we park on the parking lot by the road.

Path description:
At the beginning of the parking lot, we notice a blaze, which directs us right onto a footpath ascending overgrown stairs. The path then flattens and brings us higher to a road, which we follow to the right. After a short ascent, we come to a smaller crossroad, where we continue right, following the road only a few dozen meters to a decaying house. At the decaying house, the blazes direct us onto a cart track (the road here turns right), which we follow only a short time, as the marked path turns right and brings us past a cross to a stream. The path crosses the mentioned stream and behind it starts to ascend more steeply. The steepness soon eases, and the path brings us in a moderate ascent, which almost entirely runs through the forest, after a good hour of walking to an indistinct saddle, where there is a junction. We continue left on the cart track in the direction of the mountain hut Dom na Gospincu.
The fairly level cart track then leads us past the NOB monument, and the path after the monument splits a few times in a short time. At all junctions, we carefully follow the blazes; the marked path soon leaves the cart track and then steeply ascends through dense forest. The increasingly steep path brings us higher to a smaller vantage point, from which a view opens up on the circular cabin cable car that goes to Krvavec. The path then returns to the forest and ascends along a trail where some touring cyclist may come towards us (there are quite a few of them here; most have their own track, but occasionally the path is shared). When we come out of the forest, the path crosses a grazing fence and then brings us to a road, which we reach at the garages of snow groomers.
Here we continue left (right: upper station of the circular-cabin cable car to Krvavec and mountain hut Dom na Gospincu - 1 minute) along the road, which continues beside the summer park Krvavec, then enters the forest, where it leads us past the adventure park. Above the adventure park, we reach Penzion Tia, and behind the pension, we ascend in a few hairpin turns to Hotel Krvavec, which is located to the left of the macadam road.
