Srednji Vrh - Bele peči (Lepi vrh) (via Železnica)

Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Jesenice, we take the exit Jesenice - west (Hrušica) and continue driving in the direction of Kranjska Gora. When we come to Gozd-Martuljek, we turn right in the direction of Srednji Vrh and drive on a narrow and steep road to the mentioned settlement. When the road flattens a little, we will come to an intersection of several roads and turning area. We park on the marked parking lot by the turning area.
B) We drive to Kranjska Gora, and then continue driving in the direction of Jesenice. When we arrive in Gozd-Martuljek, we first cross the Sava Dolinka river over the bridge, and then pay attention to the left turn-offs, as the road to Srednji Vrh soon branches off to the left. We continue on the mentioned road, which leads us past a few more houses, then starts to ascend steeply on a relatively narrow road that leads us past the waterfalls of the Jerman stream. When the road flattens higher up, we arrive at Srednji Vrh, where we park on the marked parking lot by the turning area.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the left road, which immediately splits. We choose the left road (the right road leads above the Hladnik stream towards the hunting cottage Za Lepim vrhom), which leads us past the Hlebanja farm (at the mentioned farm it is possible to buy dairy products) and chapel to the spot where the signs for Trupejevo poldne (on the sign Trupijevo poldne) direct us right onto the cart track, which first crosses the electric shepherd's fence. The cart track, from which a nice view opens up on the Martuljek mountain group, soon turns right, and then before entering the forest splits into two parts. We continue on the lower cart track, beside which we notice signs for Alpe Adria Trail; the cart track after a shorter crossing brings us to the Jerman stream, beside which we then ascend. Further on, we ascend beside the mentioned stream for quite some time, crossing it several times with the help of a wider wooden bridge. Higher up, the forest starts to thin, so a nice view opens up towards Špik when looking back, and the path also leads past two cottages that we notice on the left side of the path. During the ascent, the path together with the valley of the Jerman stream turns more and more to the right and becomes flatter. When the path flattens even more, we quickly reach the macadam road that leads from Korensko sedlo, which we follow to the right (left to Blekova planina, Korensko sedlo...).
We reach the road on the area named Železnica, where it ends or changes into a wider cart track. We ascend on the cart track through larch forest, partly also spruce forest. When after less than 20 minutes of further walking we arrive from the forest onto a clearing through which a pleasant stream flows, we will notice a hunting cottage a little to the left, slightly off the path.
We continue straight on the path, which further leads across pleasant meadows, where the path is poorly visible. When the path returns to the larch forest, it becomes easy to follow again, and continues to lead us through the small valley between Trupejevo poldne on the left and Bele peči on the right. Further on, larches are replaced by dwarf pines, and the path brings us to the saddle between the aforementioned peaks.
From the saddle, we continue straight (left to Trupejevo poldne 10-15 minutes), then immediately at the fallen fence right along the edge of the dwarf pines upwards (straight to Kresišče, Srednji Vrh over Grajšca, Belca valley..., slightly right downwards to Srednji Vrh through the valley of the Žlebnica stream).
The nice passage towards the summit is soon stopped by a belt of dwarf pines through which we must break. After 15 to 20 meters of breaking through the dwarf pines, we suddenly step onto a nice clearing, which leads us mostly straight upwards on a fairly steep slope. Higher up, the path makes a few smaller turns and we are already on the very panoramic summit.

On the way: Lovska koča Železnica (1630m)
