Access to starting point:
We drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, then follow the signs for Bohinj Lake. When we arrive at Bohinj Lake in the settlement of Ribčev Laz, we turn right towards Stara Fužina. The path continues past the church of St. John the Baptist, then we soon reach the settlement of Stara Fužina, from where we follow the signs for the Mostnica Gorges and the pastures Blato, Vogar and Voje. Above the settlement of Stara Fužina we reach the beginning of the toll road to the pastures Blato, Vogar and Voje, where we park at the paid parking lot.
Path description:
From the parking lot we continue along the asphalt road leading towards Planina Blato, Planina Vogar and Voje Valley. The initially fairly steep road soon flattens, then brings us to a sign where a junction is marked.
At the sign we leave the asphalt road and continue left towards Planina Vogar and Pršivec. Further on we first ascend transversely across a scenic pasture, then the path enters the forest through which it climbs along a stony cart track. In a few long serpentines we ascend to a higher level where the path levels out somewhat. Just a little further we notice signs for the NOB monument located at a beautiful viewpoint and paraglider take-off site from which a fine view opens up of Bohinj Lake, Rudnica and the Bohinj-Tolmin Mountains, sometimes called the Lower Bohinj Mountains.
From the viewpoint we return to the marked path which soon brings us to the eastern edge of Planina Spodnji Vogar. The path ahead ascends mostly gently across meadows where along the way we notice a large number of former shepherds' huts now mostly converted into weekend cottages. We follow this path which continues gently ascending to Kosijev dom on Vogar which we reach after a few minutes of further walking.
From the hut we continue right towards Pršivec and Planina pri Jezeru as the path leads us along a wide cart track past a small cross to a marked junction.
From the junction where there is also a NOB memorial we continue left towards Pršivec and Planina Vodični vrh (right Koča na planini pri Jezeru) and proceed along the marked cart track which a few minutes later brings us to the next junction.
We continue straight towards Pršivec (right Planina Vodični vrh) as the path for some time further runs parallel to the nearby forest road running above the path. The cart track along which we walk crosses the slopes to the left and rarely ascends more steeply later leading past the Hebed spring located near the alpine pasture of the same name where we can find various names for the pasture namely Hebed, Hebet and Hebat. Beyond the spring the road temporarily distances itself somewhat from our path later approaching the marked path more closely again and when it completely nears the path at the end of the road a path branches right towards Planina Viševnik and about a minute further a path joins from the right from the end of the road i.e. the Hebed starting point.
We continue along the cart track towards Pršivec gradually beginning to ascend more steeply through the forest higher up bypassing Voket peak on the right side.
On this section the path temporarily flattens completely then fairly quickly becomes quite steep initially still leading through a spruce forest which begins to thin with spruces gradually replaced by larches which enchant every visitor to this area in autumn.
The still steep path further transitions onto a very scenic ridge where especially when wet greater caution is needed on certain sections so as not to slip due to the considerable steepness. The path which continues to offer exceptional views of the mountains above Bohinj then leads us past individual trees to Pršivec the mountain rising steeply above Bohinj Lake.
