Štore - Lahomniški sopot (via Žlajfa, Svetina and Olešče)

Access to starting point:
Štore is ideally accessible with the help of Slovenian Railways. By car... we leave the motorway in Celje and practically in the center of Celje we head towards Štore or Šentjur. We park the car near the Štore railway station, where there are enough parking spaces available and also the beginning of the marked mountain path.

Path description:
The beginning of the path is at the railway station in Štore. We head through Voglajna, where a signpost immediately directs us to the right and soon straight practically through the area of the old Štore ironworks. On the asphalt road, we continue in the lower part along Bojanski jarek to a new path junction, which directs us sharply to the left on asphalt surface higher up the hill to Žlajfa, where the road finally turns into a forest path, which is exemplarily marked. The ascent is nice, alternating forest sections and meadow-pasture areas. From the left, the mountain path from Štore via Šentjanž or Resevna joins us and after a shorter continuation through the forest we reach Almin dom on Svetina.
From Almin dom we descend down to the first junction and continue left in the direction of Svetina. After a short tour of the settlement, we continue along the path of the XIV Division past the cemetery (grave of the great traveller Alma Karlin, immediately left at the entrance) along the road higher up in the direction of Kanjuce. Past a larger homestead on the right along the road, also past the horse enclosure we come to a wooden cross on the right by the road, where the path to Veliki vrh branches off to the right upwards.
We continue from the cross downwards and the path runs partly in the forest and through meadows. At one of the homesteads we reach the asphalt connection and the more substantial settlement of Kanjuce. We follow the asphalt connection with excellent markings among the homesteads along a varied road all the way to the part of the settlement Sela. A wooden sign directs us to the right onto a macadam road and on the masonry garage there is somewhere the last correct marking with Roman 14. From the garage onwards the markings "disappear" and in the more pronounced forest section we simply follow the road. This is somewhere the end of the municipality of Štore and the beginning of the municipality of Laško. Upon arriving from the forest downwards, the settlement Olešče with the church of St. Peter somewhat on the hill is already in view. We follow the road through Petrovo Selo downwards past scattered homesteads, more or less maintained chapels... Unfortunately there are no markings and at two junctions we continue to the right which is anyway logical due to the better macadam road. Soon we reach the church of St. Peter, which is somewhat on the elevation.
After viewing the church and surroundings we continue past the homesteads downwards, also past the plaque on one of the homesteads in memory of the battle of the 14th Division on 13.02.1944 in Olešče. We continue mainly along the asphalt road in the direction of Tevče or Vrh nad Laškim into the valley of the stream or brook Lahomnica. Soon we reach the road which leads left further into the world of Kozjansko, while we continue right in the direction of Laško. After a few hundred metres we reach in Tevče, on the plain, below house no. 21 a junction and we turn by the wooden fence, also the wooden well is an important orientation point and along the calm bed of Lahomnica we continue on macadam surface past two homesteads. Beyond the homesteads we cross Lahomnica with the help of a bridge and along a pleasant meadow path we soon reach Lahomniški sopot, the goal of the path today.
