Straßegg - Stoakoglhütte

Access to starting point:
From the border crossing Šentilj we continue driving on the motorway towards Graz and further towards Linz and Salzburg. We soon leave motorway A9 and continue driving slightly right in the direction towards Vienna / Wien and continue driving on the fast road S35. We leave the mentioned fast road at the exit for Mixnitz, then from the roundabout we take the exit in the direction of Teichalm. We also continue to follow the signs for Teichalm. At the end of the settlement St. Erhard a road branches off to the right towards Teichalm, we continue straight following the signs for Straßegg, Hartberg, Birkfeld and Gasen. The road then begins to ascend noticeably, and we drive along it to the Straßegg pass, where the guesthouse Stroßeggwirt is also located. The designated parking lot by the guesthouse is intended for guesthouse guests, we park at a suitable place nearby.

Path description:
From the pass we head onto the path towards Sommeralm and Teichalm, where we initially walk on a macadam road that in a minute brings us to a spot with several crosses. We bypass the crosses on the left side, continuing the path on a cart track, which we leave after crossing the grazing fence and continue slightly left on a steeper footpath. Higher we leave the forest for a few minutes and with a view to the right and back beautiful vistas open up. A forested ascent follows and higher a crossing of a rougher forest road, onto which we then return. We continue the path on the road, which a little further begins to descend, before the fence we go slightly left onto a footpath. A short crossing through the forest follows, after the cross we leave the forest and a shorter steeper descent on the grassy slope follows. The path further leads us on a cart track, which a little further, at the Pöllabauerkreuz cross, joins a macadam road.
When a few minutes further the road goes into the forest we leave it for a marked cart track, which begins to ascend steeply, at a few junctions we continue straight.
When it brings us to the southeastern slopes of the mountain Zechnerschlag (Rohregg) we leave the forest and in a gentle descent reach the nearby road and a few dozen steps further the cottage on the pasture Haberlstall Alm.
From the pasture we continue south, after a short ascent the path splits. We continue somewhat left in the direction of the signs for Sommeralm (slightly right Heulantsch) and then ascend transversely on the cart track. When higher we reach the panoramic grassy ridge we continue straight (right Heulantsch), then we descend moderately to the next junction, where we go left (right Teichalm).
We continue in the direction of the signs Sommeralm, the path on the other side of the indistinct saddle splits once more.
We continue slightly left in the direction of the hut Stoakogelhütte (slightly right Sommeralm and longer path to the hut Stoakogelhütte) and continue walking on the grassy cart track, which crosses the slopes towards the east. A little further we reach a side ridge, where we go right, continuing the descent on a worse road, which lower brings us into a belt of forest, where we cross the torrent stream. On the other side of the stream we reach the slopes of the peak Plankogel, after the nearby cottage we leave the forest and continue for a few minutes with beautiful views. When we return to the forest we reach the northern ridge of the peak Plankogel, where a path from the settlement Gasen joins from the left.
Here we go right and ascend transversely through the forest, when we leave the forest only a short walk separates us from the hut Stoakoglhütte.
