Strunjan - Strunjanski križ

Access to starting point:
From the coastal highway, we drive from Koper towards Izola and further on the main road towards Portorož. Past the stone pine avenue, where 110 stone pines (Pinus pinea) grow, at the roundabout we turn right towards Strunjan. Through Strunjan we drive to a large paid parking lot, which is located near the beach.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue right towards Hotel Svoboda, and at the crossings we follow the blazes of the European long-distance path. Behind the hotel we leave the asphalt and continue slightly left on the path which gradually enters the forest. The path ahead leads us above the upper edge of the Strunjan cliff, so that occasionally a nice view opens up towards the sea and coast. There follows a few minutes of steeper ascent, then the path flattens and in a few minutes of additional walking we arrive at the Strunjan Cross, from which a nice view opens up.
