Access to starting point:
From Kočevje we drive on the main road G2-106 towards the border crossing Petrina. We go past the settlement Briga and the turn-off for Borovec; before the settlement Banja Loka, we turn right at the hunting lodge on the forest road, direction Stružnica, Rake. On the forest road we drive approx. 5 km until we come on the right to the house with the house number Stružnica 1. We continue another approx. 100 m, and we get to a bigger space by the road, where we can leave the car. Here are also the signs which describe the location.
Path description:
From the parking lot, from the signs which describe our destination, the path goes left uphill on the forest logging trail. After the steep section follows a less steep one, then again slightly steeper, and then from the logging trail a footpath branches off to the right towards the top of Kuželjska stena.
On the top there is a box with a logbook. From the top we have a wonderful view on the village Kuželj, after which the mountain wall got its name, and we can also admire the valley of Kolpa all the way to Loška stena.
For access to the window we continue on the marked path towards the settlement Rake on the ridge right downwards. After approx. 200 m and a significant descent, we get to the window, which opens up in the ridge.
For the descent we can continue on the marked path all the way to the settlement Rake and return on the forest road to the starting point. Or, when the marked path reaches the forest logging trail, we can turn left onto it, first descend and ascend a little, then descend again to a distinct saddle and crossroads with another logging trail, take this one to the right, and come directly to the starting point. This last part is unmarked, but orientationally undemanding.
