Access to starting point:
The road connections are four. Two from Štajerska, one from Koroška, and one from the Austrian side.
From the Štajerska side, both accesses are through the Zgornja Savinjska valley. For both accesses, we drive through the village of Luče to the village of Solčava. Here, two options are available. The first is to turn right before the bridge for Sveti Duh onto the Solčava panoramic road and drive from Solčava to Sveti Duh. The second option is to drive through Solčava past the Logarska dolina in the opposite direction on the Solčava panoramic road to Sveti Duh. The second variant is a few kilometers longer, but we are rewarded with beautiful views.
From the Koroška side, the access is from Črna na Koroškem. From Črna, we drive on the road to Solčava over Spodnje Sleme to the Štajerska side to the Solčava panoramic road and then right to Sveti Duh.
From the Austrian side, we cross the Jezersko border crossing to the Austrian side and then return to the Slovenian/Solčava side via the Pavličevo sedlo border crossing. A little below the Majerhold inn at the intersection, we turn left onto the Solčava panoramic road toward Sveti Duh.
All accesses involve some driving on gravel roads.
Route description:
The path starts immediately left upwards into the forest behind the tourist farm Strevc. After a little less than 100 meters, the path turns left onto the forest road. From this road, at the third turn-off, the path leads steeply upwards along the forest logging trail. A little higher, we reach the saddle Sveti Duh (1432 m) on the border with Austria. There, we turn sharply right and walk along the border for quite some time. The path initially ascends slightly, then descends slightly. When we notice the ruins of a small cottage on the left side, the path veers slightly away from the border onto the Austrian side and begins to ascend steeply in zig-zags. On our right, we can see a path coming from Rogar, running parallel upwards on the Slovenian side of the border to Potočka zijalka and further to Olševa. A little higher, when the path nears the border again, there is a crossing. Both paths, on the Austrian and Slovenian sides, merge again. We go left towards Vrata/Felsentore. From here, the path continues only downwards. After a few minutes of walking from the SW side, we turn to the NW side of the slope below Obel kamen. A little before Vrata, there is another crossing. Very steeply downwards, the path leads towards Železni Kapli or from below to Vrata; to the right, an unmarked path ascends steeply to Obel kamen, while straight ahead, it’s only a few more steps to Vrata. Only because of this section of the path to Vrata and through them, I marked the path as demanding. Below us, on the great steepness, substantial precipices gape. This section of the path is well secured with steel cables.
To the starting point, we can return via other paths past Rogar or slightly above Rogar to the right along the forest road. The longer return variant is an ascent via an unmarked path to Obel kamen and downwards past Potočka zijalka. The path extends by approximately 1 h.

Along the route: Sedlo Sveti Duh (1432m)

Discussion about the trip Sveti Duh pod Olševo - Lipševa vrata (Vrata, Felsentore) (path on border)

Felsentore or Lipševa vrata, already during the last ascent to Olševa I decided I must find them. The path was occasionally a bit icy but it was worth it. Interesting - I recommend viewing.

I do not currently recommend visiting due to the abundance of fallen trees. You have to make a real effort to get over all the obstacles to the gate. The path completely disappears in places. It is also dangerous due to timber hauling taking place at this time on the ridge before Lipševa vrata. From the gate to Obel kamen, however, the path is nicely maintained; in the upper section it is slippery at this time.

Yesterday a little on this trail too. We started on the Austrian side and climbed past the gates (windows) to Potočka zijalka and then past the Sv. duha saddle and the church of sv. Lenart through the Kupitz gorge returned to the valley. The section of the trail from Lipševa vrata to Potočka zijalka and to the Sv. Duha saddle is normally passable and without major obstacles. Hello. I'm interested in any newer information about the condition of this trail to Lipševa vrata and then the direct/hunting path to Obel kamen. Thank you. Regina

If anyone is interested, the path further to Obel kamen is unmarked - at the two yellow signs turn uphill. Well traceable but very steep! The junction starts at picture 24. There are cairns at 2-3 spots, exactly where needed. The path is clearly visible on the Suunto app. At the top there are fixed ropes that are quite demanding. For a longer but more pleasant access to Govca/Obel kamen, I recommend returning the same way and past Potočka zijalka. As for the path to the windows - from Rogar - a couple of fallen trees that can be bypassed with a bit of creativity
