Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Slovenj Gradec, and then we continue driving towards Stari trg and further towards Kotlje and Ravne na Koroškem. After the roundabout at Stari trg, the road starts visibly ascending, before a smaller pass, from the crossroad we continue left towards Sele (right - Vrhe and Bukovska vas). Further, we drive past the church of St. Miklavž, and then again follows some ascent to the church of St. Rok, in front of which we park on a larger macadam parking lot by the cemetery.
B) We drive to Ravne na Koroškem, then from the roundabout in the middle of the town, we continue in the direction of Kotlje and Slovenj Gradec. Further, we drive through the settlement Pratnekar, and at the beginning of Kotlje we go left towards Slovenj Gradec. A gradual ascent follows, and when the road starts descending, from the crossroad we continue right towards Sele (left - Vrhe and Bukovska vas). Further, we drive past the church of St. Miklavž, and then again follows some ascent to the church of St. Rok, in front of which we park on a larger macadam parking lot by the cemetery.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the church of St. Rok, where the road turns right, and then with nice views, we continue past the house, where Franc Ksaver Meško, Slovenian writer, used to live and work. Further, the road leads us past a few more houses, and after a shorter ascent, we get to a smaller crossroad, where we go left in the direction of the mountain hut Poštarski dom and organic farm Ravnjak. Next follows another shorter ascent and we already get to the next crossroad, where we go right, and then follows a somewhat longer diagonal ascent. We leave the diagonal ascent on the asphalt road at the crossroad, where blazes and signs for homestead Španžel point us sharply left, on a side road, on which we quickly get to the mentioned homestead. Behind the homestead, we continue on a cart track, at first with nice views by the edge of the forest and then on a footpath through the forest, where we follow the blazes. Higher, we reach the macadam road, we follow it to the left, and after a minute of additional walking, we get to the mountain hut Poštarski dom pod Plešivcem.

Discussion about the trip Sveti Rok (Sele) - Poštarski dom pod Plešivcem

On 8.8.2009 I came from the direction of Grmovškov dom - Koča pod Kremžarjevim vrhom and continued towards Poštarski dom pod Plešivcem (transversal). The hills and path were no problem at all, the joke started in the town of Slovenj Gradec which had to be crossed. You easily get lost, so it's good to have a city map (some more modern one with shopping centers marked). Since the sun was scorching mercilessly, the last part of the path before the hut through the little forest was very pleasant, even more so the beer in the hut. I continued the path to Uršlja gora.

How long is the hike if you go from Poštarski dom to Uršlja gora?

About two hours if you're fast and three if you're slower.
