We leave the Maribor-Graz-Salzburg highway (A9) after a few shorter tunnels outside Graz and continue right on the expressway in the direction of Wien-Bruck/Muhr-Peggau.
We leave the expressway at the Mixnitz exit. A roundabout follows, where we choose the 2nd exit in the direction of Teichalm. After approximately 13 km we pay attention to the turn-off right in the direction of Teichalm.
We turn right and on a partly steep road we quickly gain altitude. When we get closer to Teichalm, the road starts descending. On the left side we notice a parking lot with the information board "Rastplatz Heulantsch".
Here we park.

Route description:
From the Heulantsch parking lot we head to the nearby mountain signposts, cross the pasture fence and continue upwards on a cart track.
By the pasture we go towards the east, where we cross another fence. Behind the fence a directional sign directs us steeply upwards.
On the top we come to a junction, where a good beaten path directs us right (left we come to the fence, past which there is no passage). Otherwise, from here we can already see the cross on Heulantsch.
Along the fence we reach the top of Heulantsch in a few minutes.
The path is short and easy. It offers a wonderful view towards Teichalm with lake Teichalmsee and towards the west on the 1722 m high Hochlantsch.
We can continue the path towards the hut "Stoahandhütte" and return on the other side to the starting point.
