Teichalm (Teichalmsee) - Wildkogel (past Gerlerkreuz)

Access to starting point:
From the border crossing Šentilj we continue driving on the motorway towards Graz and further towards Linz and Salzburg. We soon leave the motorway A9 and continue driving slightly right in the direction towards Vienna / Wien and continue driving on the expressway S35. We leave the mentioned expressway at the exit for Mixnitz, and then at the roundabout we go to the exit in the direction of Teichalm. We continue to follow the signs for Teichalm. At the end of the settlement St. Erhard we once again turn right towards Teichalm, and then we start ascending steeply. When we reach the mountain pasture Breitalm we gradually start descending, but we follow the road to the parking lot at the lake Teichalmsee.

Path description:
On the south side of the expanded parking lot, a macadam road branches off towards the west, marked with signs for Gerlerkreuz and Tyrnauer Alm. The road splits after a few steps, and we continue sharply left (slightly right towards Tyrnauer Alm). The path ahead leads us along a gently sloping macadam road, offering beautiful views of the mountains above Teichalm and guiding us through expansive pastures. After some time, the path splits again, and we continue straight on a rougher road (slightly right on a cart track to the cottage Gerlerkogelhütte), which continues to ascend gently. When we enter the forest a little further, we climb somewhat steeper, and at a small crossing, we turn sharply right (left Angerwirt). A little further, we cross a grazing fence, then walk along the fence to a crossing by the cross Gerlerkogelkreuz.
Here, an unmarked path to Gerlerkogel branches off to the right, with about 10 minutes of ascent, but we continue straight and begin descending. A little lower, the path turns right, and to the left below us, we already see the cottage Gerlerkogelhütte, which we quickly reach.
We bypass the cottage on the right side, then continue crossing on a macadam road, which soon merges with another path starting at the lake Teichalmsee.
We continue straight toward Hubenhalt (right Teichalmsee) and follow the rougher road for a few minutes, then soon veer slightly right toward Nechnitz. We continue through the forest, where we quickly reach an indistinct ridge, where the marked path crosses to the other side of the ridge, and at this point we leave it and continue straight along the ridge, initially following a fainter footpath, but after crossing the grazing fence, it ends. Higher up, after a short scenic section, we cross the grazing fence again, then quickly reach the peak without a view.
