The Krma Valley - Teme (pri Rjavini)

Access to starting point:
We leave the Gorenjska highway at the Hrušica exit and follow the road ahead in the direction of Kranjska Gora. Just a little before the village of Dovje, the road which goes to Mojstrana (Vrata, Kot and Krma) branches off to the left from the main road. We follow the road ahead in the direction of the village Radovna and the valleys Krma and Kot. The relatively steep road then runs past the TNP sign, behind which the road soon flattens and brings us to a junction, where a macadam road into the valley Kot branches off to the right. We continue straight on the road, which starts descending. In the middle of the descent, a road into the valley Krma branches off to the right (straight to Radovna). A little further, we come to the next junction, where we continue right in the direction of Krma. The macadam road then brings us to the mountain hut Kovinarska koča, which we follow further. Occasionally somewhat rougher road then brings us to the parking lot in front of the gate.

Path description:
From the parking lot, we continue on the road past the gate to extensive gravel deposits. There follow a few minutes of easy walking on the gravel to a marked but sometimes poorly visible junction. The walking path continues straight, but the blazes direct us to the right over a torrent into the forest, where the path starts to ascend slightly. Only after approximately 40 minutes of walking does the path become steeper, but not excessively. The moderately steep path brings us, at an altitude of 1300 m, out of the forest into the dwarf pines. Here, nice views begin to open up on the nearby walls of the peaks above Krma. The ascent does not last long, as the path soon descends a few meters and brings us to the nice mountain saddle Vrtača. The walk across the nice grassy plain is very pleasant and panoramic. On the other side, the path starts ascending again, this time through a sparse forest. This ascent also does not last long; it is interrupted by the plain Malo polje, where the path turns right. There follows a moderately steep ascent past a water trough to the mountain pasture Zgornja Krma, where a shepherd's hut stands.
Just a few minutes above the mountain pasture, the path brings us to a junction at a spring. We continue right in the direction of Kredarica and Staničev dom (left Planika). The easy path brings us, after a few minutes of further walking, to the next junction, where we continue straight in the direction of Staničev dom (left Kredarica). We continue almost horizontally along the path, which crosses a belt of sparse larch forest. The path then emerges from the forest onto panoramic slopes and turns slightly to the left. At this point, where the marked path turns left, we leave it and continue the ascent along an unmarked track that ascends a smaller indistinct valley (the junction is at approximately 2000 m). The path through this valley runs through dwarf pines and ascends only slightly. The track becomes increasingly hard to see and completely disappears toward the end of the valley. Here we turn left toward Rjavina and, after a short ascent, we arrive at a grassy slope where we notice the remains of a bomber from the Second World War. We continue right along the lower scree to the start of a somewhat more demanding traverse toward Teme. The demanding section is very short, but considerable caution is needed because there is quite a lot of scree on the path. Then follows a short traverse across a fairly steep grassy slope and a descent to Teme.
