Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway we take the Lipce exit, where we turn right towards Jesenice. In the settlement Slovenski Javornik, at the intersection with traffic lights we turn left towards the center of the town. At the second traffic-light intersection (at the gymnasium) we turn sharply right, back, and we drive along Tomšičeva cesta, past the primary school on the left. A smaller intersection follows, where we turn right, and we drive downhill, immediately thereafter turning right again onto the large parking lot, which is situated behind the Tone Čufar Theater.
Path description:
From the parking lot, we return along the road to the intersection near the primary school on the left, where we turn right and continue along Tomšičeva cesta towards the east. Soon we reach a bus station, where at the end of it we must cross the road. On the other side of the road, we encounter a roadside embankment with a passage containing stairs. Up these we climb into the settlement, where past a few houses we continue straight uphill towards the forest. A little higher we step onto the grass, where there is an overgrown path into the forest. This leads us past an old water intake similar to a shelter into the forest, where we encounter a somewhat larger fenced water intake. Past it we continue to the right, and soon encounter a transverse path, onto which we step and head left, steeper uphill. The path leads us for some time through smaller zigzags increasingly steeply uphill towards the northwest. On some sections during descent in snow or when wet, caution is needed. When the gradient eases, the path turns slightly right onto the western slope of the hill, from where in the same slightly right turn it climbs to the summit of Kalvarija on our right. Here we find a wooden chapel with a logbook and a bench.
