Tremerje - Hom above Celje (via crossing Slomnik)

Access to starting point:
Tremerje is a settlement between Celje and Laško or Zidani Most.
A) From the direction of Celje, we turn right and near the settlement sign there are available parking spots. In the opposite direction there is a bridge over the Savinja.
B) From the direction of Zidani Most or Laško, we turn left and near the settlement sign there are available parking spots.
C) The bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the starting point allows arrival also by public transport.

Route description:
From the parking spot, we go towards the center of the settlement, where there is probably the most important point, the church of St. Luke. To the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik we can continue on the asphalt road, where the path is marked, or maybe turn a little lower onto a well-hardened gravel road along the fields and meadows, which rejoins before the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik. After the turn-off for Veliki Slomnik in the forest, we follow a wider hardened forest road, which ascends steeply and higher, on a smaller clearing with a holiday cottage, passes into a forest path. From the right soon joins a mountain path, which starts at the cross at the turn-off for Košnica, and after a short continuation we reach the midway point of the path, the Slomnik crossing with a table and benches.
From the Slomnik crossing we can continue to the summit of Veliki Slomnik, which we reach after a kilometer of walking upwards and 160 altitude meters, and a short extension to Libojske stene, an excellent viewpoint.
After returning from Veliki Slomnik or, if not added, we continue from the Slomnik crossing downwards on a pleasant forest path. We soon reach a cart track, where signs direct us to the left. The cart track soon passes into a meadow cart track and further we reach the settlement Košnica, where there is a new path crossing.
On the asphalt road we continue in the direction of Hom or Brnica. The asphalt soon passes into a wide and well-hardened forest road. Soon a path to Brnica branches off to the left, while we continue slightly to the right and upwards. At the top of the ascent there is another turn-off to the left for Brnica, but we continue to the right slightly downwards to the homestead (according to sources named Ojsteršek), where the forest road ends.
We continue on a wide mountain path in a partly mixed forest of deciduous and coniferous trees upwards and in a pleasant final ascent we reach the destination of the path...Hom above Celje.
The total length of the path from the settlement Tremerje, without the eventual addition to Veliki Slomnik and Libojske stene, is around 5300 meters, 590 positive altitude meters and 260 negative altitude meters.
