Caution: the road is in bad shape!
Drive to Irschen (Austria). The fastest way to Irschen is via the motorway to Špital and then on the regional road past the villages of Lendorf, Greifenburg and Dellach im Drautal all the way to Irschen. In Irschen, follow the signs for Weneberg and then for Weneberger Alm to the parking lot near Unteralmhütte. The last 6 kilometers of the road are in bad condition.
Path description:
First, walk to Unteralmhütte, where the trail begins to ascend. The trail then descends, crosses a spring and ascends to the signposts that direct us right towards Leppner Alm. In the continuation, the trail crosses several springs and numerous pasture areas. The trail finally joins a cart track that descends slightly. The trail then separates from the cart track and approaches a hut, passing which it continues across the pasture to a junction, where it is necessary to turn right (straight ahead is Ochsnerhütte). The trail then descends in steeper sections through the forest to the signposts, where it is necessary to turn left and continue past houses and for a few short minutes along a gravel road. On the right, we see the trail, which the signposts also indicate. Descend this trail to the Bergheimat hut, which is our goal.
