Velem - Irrotkő / Geschriebenstein (path blue plus)

Access to starting point:
We arrive in Hungary through the border crossing Dolga Vas / Redics, and then we drive in the direction of Szombathely / Mosonmagyaróvár. When we arrive in the town of Szombathely, we continue in the direction of Kőszeg. In the village of Lukácsháza, we notice a signpost for the settlement Velem (at the time when this description was made, the sign was poorly visible). We also drive through the villages Kőszegdoroslo and Kőszegszerdahely and arrive in the settlement Velem.
A smaller parking lot is in the village at the spot where the paths to the summit also begin. Because the peak is quite visited, the parking lot is often occupied. In this case, we park at the cemetery at the beginning of the settlement.

Path description:
From the starting point we continue ahead and quickly arrive at the bus turning point, where the blue plus path begins.
We continue right (left red path), a few steps still on asphalt, then the path directs us slightly downhill to a stream, along which we continue for approximately 5 minutes. When we leave the stream we return to the asphalt road, at the first bend we arrive in the forest, where the path becomes steep and continues along a forest cart track. The path ahead leads us past an interesting but unfortunately decaying cottage, a little higher the path turns left and becomes even steeper.
Further on, along stone stairs we reach the church of St. Vitus Kapolna, which rises above the nearby villages.
There follows some easy walking on a wider path, which brings us to the parking lot, after the parking lot there follows some slight descent through a sparse forest. The path ahead starts ascending again and leads us through a dense spruce forest. There follow a few hairpin turns and we ascend to the ridge, where we arrive at the telecommunications building, after which we continue along the asphalt road which descends slightly. Soon we return to a cart track which brings us to the ridge, along which we descend approximately 100 altitude meters.
Lower we reach a junction, where the red path mentioned at the beginning and the path from the village Bozsok join us.
The blue plus path ends here, further we follow red and blue signs which lead us past the feed site towards northwest. We start ascending more steeply again, when we leave the forest we arrive at a resting place below the summit. From here there follow only a few steps and we arrive at the top, where a built viewpoint stands, from which a view opens up on all sides.
