Veliko Tinje - Veliki vrh (on Pohorje)

Access to starting point:
We drive into the center of Slovenska Bistrica, where at the traffic-light intersection we turn in the direction of the health center and continue driving along Partizanska cesta. This is followed by driving through the town, where we continue straight; on the outskirts of the town, at the industrial zone, we head onto the road towards Tinje, Sveti Trije kralji and Črno jezero lake. This is followed by an ascent on a somewhat narrower asphalt road, which begins to climb and first leads past the hunting lodge pizzeria Gams; higher up we also pass through the settlement Visole, and a few kilometers higher we arrive in Zgornje Tinje, where we continue left and then, on the edge of the settlement, park near the Dom krajanov and the Tinje fire station.

Route description:
From the starting point, we walk to the church, where the first blazes appear, and we ascend the stairs to the church, which we bypass on the left side. Behind the church, we cross the access road and continue along the hedge and then across the meadow return to the asphalt road, along which we ascend to an unmarked intersection. From the intersection, we continue along the right upper road, along which on the right we notice a blaze. A little further we arrive at a few more houses, where we go right onto a cart track that ascends transversely above the road. Through the forest at the junctions we follow the blazes; a few minutes higher we leave the forest and continue the ascent along the path that continues along the edge of the forest. Higher, the path turns right and returns to the forest, through which we ascend to an asphalt road, which we reach at a smaller intersection.
We continue left uphill (straight uphill along the side road we can reach the church of St. Urh, right downhill we return to Veliko Tinje).
A few minutes we ascend along the asphalt road, then opposite the Repnik homestead (the homestead is located in the small settlement Rep), at the memorial plaque, we continue into the forest, through which we first ascend, then the path levels out and mostly in a gentle ascent crosses the slopes to the left, where it approaches the road. A little further we leave the forest and continue right, first along the edge of the forest; on a smaller saddle an unmarked path also joins from the right, which leads past the church of St. Urh.
Here we go somewhat to the left, where we cross a strip of forest; at the hunting observatory we temporarily leave the forest. The path ahead leads us along a gentle cart track that through the forest brings us to Planina pod Šumikom, where we cross the asphalt road that leads towards Sveti Trije kralji.
We cross the main road and continue along the side road, which past the chapel brings us to the Škrinjar homestead, which we bypass on the lower side; before the next Mlakar homestead the blazes direct us right into the forest. This is followed by a somewhat steeper ascent through the forest, where we follow the blazes; when the path levels out, a marked path past Močnik also joins from the right.
We continue straight, where a few minutes of gentle to moderate ascent follow, and then we already arrive at Hotel Jakec, above which is the church of St. Three Kings.
From the church of St. Three Kings we continue in the direction of Črno jezero and Urškina pot, where we quickly arrive at the edge of the nearby ski slope of the RTC Jakec - Trije kralji ski area. The path ahead first leads along the edge of the forest, just a few meters from the ski area; higher we cross the ski area to the right (during the operation of the ski area we cross the ski area above the lift). On the other side of the ski slope the path goes somewhat to the right and leads us under the accumulation lake.
Somewhat behind the lake we arrive at the connecting ski slope, along which we continue the ascent (during the operation of the ski area we walk along the extreme left edge of the ski area); when a few minutes higher we reach the second ski slope, where the marked path to Črno jezero crosses the ski area, we continue along the left edge, where there are also signs for Urškina pot. This is followed by a few minutes of steeper ascent and with ever better views we arrive at the benches on Veliki vrh, from where a nice view opens onto Pohorje and the valley.
From here we can continue a few more 10 m into the forest, where the highest point of the peak is located.
