Access to starting point:
From Vojnik, Mislinja or Slovenske Konjice, we drive to Vitanje, where we park on the marked parking lot in the center of the settlement by Hudinja (at the starting point there is the parish church of St. Peter and Paul). In the settlement it is also possible to park elsewhere.
Route description:
From the parking lot, we walk to the bridge over Hudinja, where at the crossroad we continue left in the direction of Slovenske Konjice and the path to Stenica. After the nearby chapel at the pedestrian crossing we carefully cross the main road and continue for some 10 steps along the sidewalk in the direction of Slovenske Konjice, then blazes lead us slightly right onto a steeper narrow road, on which we quickly ascend to the nearby hill, where there is the church of the Assumption of Mary.
Before the church we continue left and on an asphalt path return to the main road, where a few steps further we continue along the sidewalk, then signs for Stenica direct us right. A little further over the bridge we cross the stream Hočna, a narrower asphalt path in a gentle to moderate ascent past the trough brings us to a crossroad, where we go left in the direction of Stenica. At the next crossroad we go slightly right, then on the asphalt road we ascend to the left turn, where we continue on the right road, which starts descending through the forest (left - settlement Stenica).
A little lower signs for Goležev grad from the asphalt road direct us slightly left onto a worse macadam road, which first continues parallel to the asphalt road, then turns left. On this section a nice view opens up on part of Vitanje, the path gradually changes into an overgrown cart track. The cart track ends a few minutes further on, and we continue on a beaten but still overgrown footpath, which a little further joins the better beaten lower path.
When we reach the mentioned path we go left, first we still ascend a little, when the path levels out we quickly arrive at the vantage point on Goležev grad.
The ascent further to the ruins is dangerous, partly because of the steepness, especially because of the great danger of falling rocks.
Description and pictures refer to the condition in July 2022.

Discussion about the trip Vitanje - Golež castle (upper path)
Lisica27. 09. 2022 14:52:24
Recently I explored Vitanje. First Krajnikov grad then to this Goležev grad. I parked at Mercator, the path starts across the road at the Fire Station right on the path... there are local markers everywhere to the top. Very impressive on what a rock this castle stands. I went around under the rock on the left side and to the top. With this description above, I would go at picture 21 down through the forest and then immediately left past the farm with horses, that path looks more trodden as it continues to Stenica.
