Access to starting point:
From Dravograd, drive towards Maribor or vice versa; after Radlje ob Dravi (from the Maribor direction before Radlje), at the roundabout leave the main road towards Maribor or Dravograd and continue driving towards Vuhred, Ribnica na Pohorju, and Ribniška koča. After the bridge over the Drava River, we arrive in Vuhred, but continue right towards Vuzenica and then just before the end of Vuhred park on a larger asphalt parking lot near the sports field and the parish church of St. Lawrence.
Path description:
From the parking lot, return a short way back to the road leading towards Ribnica na Pohorju, walk along it only briefly as the signs for the trail to St. Anton direct us right onto a path that first leads across a courtyard, then onto a pasture across which we ascend transversely with nice views. On the other side of the pasture, the path turns left and continues briefly along the pasture, then enters dense forest through which we begin ascending more steeply. Higher up, the track leads us to a road to a nearby farm; shortly behind the farm, leave the road and continue slightly left on the marked path to another farm. Bypass the farm on the right, then cross the road again that we walked a few minutes earlier.
Further on, ascent through the forest follows again; higher we reach an indistinct forested ridge where we cross a wider gravel road twice consecutively. At the second crossing, head onto the access road to the Betrih farm where the path goes through the courtyard. Here the path levels out, then shortly after return to the wider road, follow it right and continue along it for some time. Further on we pass individual farms, and nice views occasionally open from the path.
Behind the Malej farm, return to the forest; at the chapel leave the marked path leading higher into the Pohorje area and continue right towards the church of St. Anton. Another approx. ten minutes ascent follows and we arrive at the church of St. Anton from which a nice view opens.
