Za Ušivcem - Gradišče (Velika planina) (via Mala planina)

Access to starting point:
A) First, we drive to Kamnik, and then we continue driving in the direction of the Črnivec pass. Just a few hundred meters before the mentioned pass, we notice signs for Kranjski Rak, which direct us sharply left onto a narrow and initially also quite steep road. The road flattens higher up and then brings us to the Volovjek pass, where immediately behind the Kranjski Rak inn we turn left onto the road in the direction of Velika planina. Further on, we drive along a macadam road, which higher up brings us to the next somewhat larger intersection. We continue right (straight Planina Kisovec) and follow the moderately ascending road to the larger and marked parking lot Za Ušivcem.
B) From Savinjska dolina, we first drive to Luče, and then continue driving towards Kamnik. When we arrive at the Volovjek pass (Kranjski Rak), we continue right in the direction of Velika planina. Further, we follow the above description.

Path description:
By the parking lot we notice signs for Mala and Velika planina, which point us into the forest, on a well-beaten but unmarked footpath. The path first ascends through the forest, then flattens and brings us out of the forest onto grassy slopes, where it turns slightly to the left and joins the forest road. On the road we walk only a short time, then we arrive at the next signposts.
Here a slightly unmarked footpath branches off to the right, which leads to Velika planina, but we continue straight on the marked path in the direction of Mala and Velika planina. The path ahead still leads us along the road, which past the hunting observatory brings us to the next marked junction, where a narrower road branches off to the right towards Dovja Raven. We continue straight along the road in the direction of Mala planina, which with nice views brings us to Gojška planina, from where we continue right in the direction of Jarški, Črnuški and Domžalski dom. After one hour and fifteen minutes of walking from the starting point, we arrive at Jarški dom on Mali planini.
We bypass the mentioned hut on the left side, then continue the ascent on a wide path that gently ascends through a sparse forest. Already after a few minutes, the path to Črnuški dom branches off to the left, but we continue straight and follow the wide path all the way to Domžalski dom on Mali planini.
The path then descends into a smaller valley, where we step again onto a wide path (almost a road). We continue right and follow the path to a poorly marked path junction, where the path branches off to the left in the direction of the Gradiščkovih shepherd settlement. After a short ascent, the path brings us to the mentioned settlement, from which we continue on a poorly visible but marked path. The path ahead leads us past numerous benches, moderately upwards on an unvegetated slope. Soon the path brings us between two peaks, where we continue slightly right. In the middle of the ascent, we notice the sign "chairlift" to the right (to the left, in the direction of our ascent, there is the shepherd settlement). We continue in the direction of the chairlift along the path, which quickly brings us to the summit slope of Velika planina. Here we continue right on the marked path, which after a few steps of ascent brings us to Gradišče.
