Zabukovica (Podvine) - Dom na Bukovici

Access to starting point:
We leave the Styrian motorway at the Žalec exit, then follow the signs for Žalec. Through Žalec we follow the signs for Griže and Migojnice, which we reach soon after the bridge over the river Savinja, and then we follow the signs for Zabukovica, where we turn left near the kindergarten. Further on, we ascend past Bara pri Ani to the upper part of the settlement Zabukovica, from where we follow the road towards Kasaze. The road continues a little further into the forest and leads us by a solitary house to a crossroads, where a road branches off sharply to the left towards Bukovica. At the beginning of the path, there are no suitable places for parking.

Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on a side road, along which we notice the first blazes, and it quickly leads us to a small hamlet. After the hamlet, the road returns to the forest, and at the next house, we join the usual path from Zabukovica. We bypass the house on the right side and steeply ascend the concrete road in this section.
The road higher up flattens and transitions into a forest, and at a marked junction where we merge with the path from Migojnice, we continue straight onto a footpath. A few minutes higher, the path returns to the road, and we then continue to the nearby mountain hut, with the peak located just a few dozen steps further.
