Zadnjica - Teme (Hribarice) (via Dolič)

Access to starting point:
From Kranjska Gora, drive over Vršič Pass towards Bovec or vice versa, but only to the 50th hairpin of the Vršič road (near the village of Trenta). Here turn onto the side road, which is followed in a gentle ascent to the parking lot in Zadnjica Valley.
Recently the road to the parking lot at the barrier has been closed to public traffic, so park at the parking lot at the entrance to Zadnjica Valley. This extends the route by more than 15 minutes.

Path description:
From the paid parking lot in Zadnjica Valley continue on the marked trail, initially along the road in the direction of Pogačnikov dom na Kriških podih, Razor, Stenar, Križ, Bovški Gamsovec, Luknja, Triglav, Koča na Doliču and Kanjavec. The trail first leads past some houses or weekend cottages and after about 15 minutes of walking reaches a marked junction where there used to be a free parking lot, but parking is now prohibited.
Continue along the slightly right lower road in the direction of Zasavska koča na Prehodavcih, Koča na Doliču, Luknja and other nearby objectives (left Pogačnikov dom na Kriških podih and other objectives above Kriških podih and the lower station of the cargo cable car to Kriških podih), where the easy road continues across scenic meadows, higher through the forest. Just before the end of the forest road at the Planja junction or before the valley head in the area called Utro, a marked trail to Prehodavci branches right.
Continue straight along the road, which soon turns into a footpath or old military mule track, along which we mostly ascend moderately on gradually steeper slopes. Still in the forest, a climbing path via Komar branches right, we continue on the mule track, which ascends in numerous hairpins, and due to steep slopes above, parts of the trail are exposed to falling rocks.
The fairly panoramic trail reaches at about 1500 m the next junction, where the path to Koča na Doliču branches right, straight ahead continues the path towards Luknja, Pogačnikov dom na Kriških podih and Triglav via Plemenice.
Continue right towards Koča na Doliču and ascend further along the mule track (to Luknja also mule track).
Further mostly moderate ascent along the mule track across steep and occasionally exposed sheer slopes. As the path is wide and well graded it is technically not demanding, but exposed to falling rocks and due to occasional deep views mostly unsuitable for vertigo sufferers. The path occasionally makes some hairpins, otherwise ascends traversing right most of the time, gradually approaching the mighty wall of Kanjavec.
Higher the climbing path from Zadnjica via Komar joins from the right, a bit further the Mira Marko Debelak path (via Kanjavec ledges) branches right. The increasingly panoramic path makes some more hairpins higher up, from it a path to Triglav branches left.
Continue straight then quickly reach Koča na Doliču.
At the hut the path forks, we continue right downhill towards Kanjavec, descending westwards (straight saddle Dolič and Dom Planika pod Triglavom, Vodnikov dom na Velem polju, Hribarice...) following the marked mountaineering trail. The descent ends quickly and we start ascending the rocky slopes of Kanjavec, with wider views opening with each step. Higher the trail through a series of indistinct depressions, above them traverse up scree to the technically demanding section aided by some fixed protection. With fixed protection ascend above the rock jump, the steepest part of the ascent is quite tough as the path is very steep on a short section.
Above the jump the gradient eases and we join the technically easier path over Hribarice saddle.
Here go right and quickly reach the panoramic summit of Kanjavec.
From Kanjavec summit descend the marked trail to the saddle separating western and eastern summit, then on a poorly trodden unmarked track in a few minutes ascend to western summit of Kanjavec.
From the summit continue along the very panoramic ridge westwards first descending slightly. Then continue along the easy ridge and ascend to the summit of Teme.
