Zali Log - Gladki vrh (Ratitovec)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Železniki and further towards Zali Log. Immediately after the sign Zali Log we continue right and then we park by the sports field of the sports club Senca Zali Log.

Route description:
From the parking lot at the sports field we continue on the road which past the NOB monument and the church of Holy Mary brings us to the stream Pruharca, along which we then ascend. Higher, the road ends, and the marked path turns right uphill, where it starts to ascend across a panoramic grassy slope. The well-maintained path then enters the forest, where it first leads us past old military bunkers. The relatively steep path higher crosses a wide cart track and then continues to ascend steeply through the forest. The exemplarily maintained path, along which every 100 altitude meters we notice a wooden sign with the height, brings us higher to Žagarjev hlev v Grobljah, in which there is an inscription box.
Above Žagarjev hlev the path passes onto an indistinct ridge, from which it veers to the right after a few minutes, where for a short time it ascends a bit more steeply. When higher we step onto the ridge again, the path flattens and gradually passes onto a wide cart track, which veers from the ridge onto shady slopes. Further the path brings us to a small saddle, where we also step onto a macadam road. We follow the road to the right, which past the quarry and through a belt of forest brings us to a junction on the saddle Po(v)den.
On the saddle we continue straight (left Torka, right Prtovč) in the direction of Ratitovec, on an initially gentle path which ascends through a belt of raspberry bushes, then passes into the forest, where it starts to ascend more steeply. The path higher flattens and brings us to a poor forest road, which we follow for only some 10 m, then the markers direct us to the right onto an increasingly steep footpath. The path soon passes out of the forest and brings us onto steep grassy slopes (in snow great risk of slipping and avalanche), along which we ascend towards the right. Higher the path past rocky towers brings us onto the main ridge, where it turns sharply to the left and becomes completely flat. There follows an easy and pleasant path, along which in 10 minutes of further walking, which takes place on an increasingly panoramic slope, we ascend to Krekova koča na Ratitovcu.
From the hut we continue straight on a somewhat steeper path in the direction of Gladki vrh. We follow this increasingly panoramic path all the way to Gladki vrh, which we reach after 5 minutes of further walking.
