Access to starting point:
The island is difficult to access. The easiest way to reach the starting point is by private boat from Vis or Lastovo.
Some agencies on Vis organize trips to the island a few times a year, but a lot of luck is needed. There must be enough passengers, good weather, and calm sea. Inquire before heading to Vis.
Route description:
From the starting point, head to the well-visible path behind the concrete fence. The path ascends gently in serpentines. When the serpentines end, a path branches right to the antenna, soon after to the helipad. Continue straight on the made path both times. The path dips slightly. En route, green benches appear. The path then steepens towards the lighthouse. It makes 2 more serpentines and ascends stairs with concrete fencing to the lighthouse courtyard. Continue through; in minutes, reach the meteorological station atop the island with views of the Palagruža archipelago and open sea. Good visibility reveals parts of Italy, Vis, and Lastovo. View the lighthouse if permitted by the keeper.
