Access to starting point:
First, we drive to the center of Bovec, where we head up the road that passes by the church and continues towards Kanin village. We follow the road and it soon brings us to a junction, where we continue straight (the left road descends to Plužna village). The road then quickly takes us to the next junction, where we turn right towards Rombon. We continue driving to the spot where the road crosses the torrent. Here, near the former parking lot and the start of the described path, there are mountaineering signposts and a spring with a water trough.
Parking warning: Parking in the immediate vicinity of the trough and in the torrent area in the Zavrzelno hamlet is no longer possible due to private land and the narrow road, and it is prohibited. The car must be left lower, at one of the designated parking lots in Bovec or along the road below Kanin village, and walk to the trough and mountaineering signposts, which extends our approach path.
Route description:
From the former parking lot by the spring, the markers lead us onto the footpath (make sure not to start along the cart track), which initially climbs through sparse forest, and about 15 minutes higher it enters dense forest through which it then ascends moderately. Further along, the path crosses several old military roads, mainly mule tracks, and after about half an hour of walking from the Zavrzelno hamlet brings us out of the forest onto grassy slopes. We continue across them to the central part of the abandoned Planina Goričica, where a hunting hut stands.
From the pasture, a view opens up to the surrounding mountains, especially those south of the Bovec Basin, and we continue along the lower right path towards Rombon (left to Črnelska špica), which brings us in a few easy steps to the place where a military hospital once stood (today only ruins remain of the hospital located some 10 meters off the marked path, the memorial plaque stands near the marked path).
The marked path turns left here and climbs through the last forest belt on our route, and once we leave the forest higher up, we notice numerous military trenches - caverns on the right (a cross is on the opposite side of the path), as the Rombon area is known for some of the fiercest clashes during World War I.
The path ahead climbs along a fairly dilapidated mule track and continues to lead through the area where numerous remnants from the time of the carnage in this region can be observed along the path. Higher up the path levels out and offers a beautiful view of Rombon, and the path forks here.
We continue right towards Čukla (straight is the marked path to Rombon), to the summit with the monument, which we reach in just three minutes of further walking.
Starting point - Planina Goričica 1:45, Planina Goričica - Čukla 1:15.

The trip can be extended to the following destinations: Rombon (2 h)

Good hike, interesting, went mostly off-trail. Nothing on path.

How to go off-trail? From where? I'm interested. Thanks.

I'm interested too. But this tour surely isn't suitable for winter, as days are so short. What do you think?

The tour is suitable for winter too, especially as it's on sunny side. After pathless section to Čukla summit below top part, from marked trail at left bend turn right, then "slab" to top. Alternative from "cemetery" right, find abandoned trail crossing entire south slope of Čukla, ascend from east. Depends on conditions, icier more slip risk.

I was on Čukla, path is a bit steep but beautiful yet strenuous, nice in summer but start early morning before heat, also worth to Rombon which is 1h further walk,

The path to Planina Goričica is trodden, further on not. Unfortunately I didn't find the path further from the planina, otherwise I would have continued to Čukla. Gaiters highly recommended, the snow is crusty.

Today we were up on Čukla,,actually via the southern ascent (due to the wonderful view of Bovška kotlina) and back via the normal route,,,there's still quite some snow,,but nothing that prevents getting up there,,

The path starts quite steeply, to Koča Goričice practically every rock and tree is marked. Then obviously the markers ran out of paint and onwards to Rombon we are lucky if we find some faded marker, but the path across meadows is followable. Somewhere halfway we cross a nicely preserved and used mule track, which is not marked on any map; I'm curious where it starts and where it leads?

The mule track crosses the entire slope of Rombon, but it is partially destroyed, overgrown and difficult to follow from the landslide onwards; it leads to the marked path from Kluže to Rombon at 1500 m.a.s.l. It starts on the road from Bovec to Gozdec and station B of the Kanin cable cars, through the forest along the mule track towards Planina Goričica. Above the planina it continues towards the landslide; after a few minutes of walking, it brings you to a wonderful viewpoint towards the Bovec basin. If you are not an experienced off-trail hiker and have trouble with orientation, I do not recommend continuing the path.

https://www.hribi.net/trenutnerazmere.asp?slo=1&gorovjeid=1&id=580 My colleague and I went (probably on this one you mentioned, wini) from Planina Krnice all the way to the hunting hut on Goričica. In the forest it is perfectly traceable. When crossing grassy areas it is quite overgrown and difficult to follow. Especially where there was a fire a few years ago. But it has nice views and we really enjoyed this path. Regards
