Access to starting point:
a) Leave the A1 motorway at the Split exit and continue on the expressway towards Split. Leave it at the first exit and continue towards Drniš and Knin. In Gornji Muć, turn right and in Sutina turn left towards Zelovo. Drive past the turn-off for Svilaja and when arriving in Zelovo village, turn left into the village and park in a suitable place somewhere by the road. Best by the bus stop, where there are also hiking signs.
b) Drive to Knin and from there follow towards Kijevo and Vrlika. Drive through Vrlika and along Perućko Lake to Hrvace, where pay attention to the right turn-off for Zelovo. Turn and when arriving in Zelovo, continue to the village centre and park in a suitable place somewhere by the road. Best by the bus stop, where there are also hiking signs.
Path description:
From the starting point follow the markings through the village. The road loses the asphalt surface and enters the forest. After 20 minutes of walking the road forks. Continue right to a barely noticeable junction, where the path to the hut via Mačkovec branches left. After a few minutes reach a fork, where turn slightly right again. The road then becomes a rough cart track. Soon the cart track turns into a trail. Begin to ascend gently through the forest. The path disappears in places. Emerge from the forest, the path steeply climbs the meadow, the path from Đoline drage joins from the right, and reach a "rest area" with a bench. Continue on the path and soon reach the road to the hut. Continue right on the road. With increasingly beautiful views of Orlove stine and towards Maglaj and Kamešnica, reach the junction before the hut. Continue right, descending slightly to the hut. Behind the hut continue a few metres towards Svilaja and then right towards Orlove stine. The path steeply ascends for a few minutes, then slightly descends and levels out. Soon emerge from the forest onto rocky slabs, carefully follow the markings. The path re-enters the forest belt and in a few minutes we are at the panoramic summit of Orlovih stin.
