Access to starting point:
Leave the A1 motorway at the Split exit, then proceed on the expressway following signs for the Split ferry terminal. There buy tickets for Vis island. After a 2.5-hour ferry ride, arrive in Vis town, follow signs for Komiža. The road leads to a junction above Vis town, continue sharply left towards Rukavac. The road climbs transversely to a saddle with a cross. Then the road gently descends through a few hairpins into Plisko Polje. Continue to Podšpilje, turn right towards Titova Špilja, Hum and Žena Glava. At the next junction, where left to Hum and straight to Žena Glava, the described path starts. Park somewhere nearby by the road.
Path description:
From the junction head straight into Žena Glava village. After a few minutes reach the end of the village, carefully follow markers leading right between houses. Soon reach a trail that gently ascends through overgrown meadow between wire and stone fence. Then the path climbs somewhat steeper in short hairpins. The path reaches a small plateau where it levels. Walk about half an hour along dry stone wall through belt of small groves, otherwise we have views most of the time. Arrive at junction where path from Komiža via Sveti Mihovil joins from right (this is on saddle between Mali Hum and Orlovica along main road Vis - Komiža). Continue straight towards Hum and Titova Špilja. After about 10 minutes walking still along dry stone wall at first, which we then leave, arrive at marked junction, continue straight. Left Titova Špilja. Path climbs somewhat steeper transversely. Leads mostly through forest. After about 20 minutes reach gravel road leading from main road to Hum towards antenna below Orlovica. Continue right (left Sveti Duh) and after a few minutes path from Sveti Duh joins from left. Follow road to end where aforementioned antenna is. Then at edge find start of overgrown trail. First follow it very carefully along edge, then it gently descends and moves away from edge. Follow this trail which gently ascends slope back to edge, where soon on right spot passage through dense belt of trees. Through juniper soon reach panoramic summit of Orlovica. Trail is orientationally difficult to follow.
