Zvodno - Srebotnik (on Celje mountain trail)

Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Celje - center exit and continue driving towards Laško and Zidani Most. The road leads us through the centre of Celje, then before the Savinja brings us to a roundabout with a fountain. Here we continue "straight" over the first bridge (direction Laško and Zidani Most) and follow the road to the next traffic-light intersection, where we continue left over the second bridge across the Savinja. Immediately behind the bridge at the intersection we continue right. After approx. 500 metres we arrive at the underpass under the railway line (on the right side a large parking lot and the starting point in Zagrad), drive through it and continue straight past the fire station in Zagrad. We follow the road through the village, which higher up in Zvodno brings us to a smaller intersection by the bus stop, where we notice signs and signposts for Grmada right, Hudičev graben straight, parking lot 1.2 km straight. We continue straight towards the new parking lot (2020), and the road gradually flattens and narrows. New parking lot - our starting point is located right by the road before the fish farm. Here we can park and set off on a hike along paths that lead either past Marija, or through Hudičev graben, or through Bojanski graben or through Suhi potok. We can also reach the starting point from Dolenjska and Zasavje. In this case, we first drive to Rimske Toplice and then through Laško to the above-described second bridge, from where we continue according to the description.

Route description:
From the starting point, signposts for Hudičev graben direct us first onto the road past the supporting wall back towards Celje, already after a few steps sharply to the left onto a cart track that leads into the forest. We follow the cart track for about 100 metres to the junction just before the ravine, where we leave the path into the gorge of Hudičev potok stream and continue left towards Pečovje or Marija. We follow the marked forest path all the way to the next junction at the edge of the forest, where we join the Celje Mountain Trail (CPP) to the right along the forest road coming from the direction of Celje. Soon we come to a new junction, where Barbarina pot joins from the left from the direction of Štor. We continue straight along the forest road past the homesteads and from here onwards for some time we follow the signposts for Barbarina pot. A little higher, a narrower forest path branches off to the left, which begins to ascend somewhat more steeply. Higher up, before the junction below Marija, we are also helped by some cables, more in the function of a fence than a handhold. At the junction, CPP markings direct us to Srebotnik, where we continue towards the summit along the steep eastern ridge. In the last part of the path the steepness eases, and at the top we are greeted by a magnificent view practically in all directions, a Slovenian flag, a logbook, a bench and a stamp. A few steps towards the southwest it is possible to approach the exposed part of the panoramic but precipitous cliff. From the summit we can return to the starting point along the same path, or continue the descent along the western ridge, descend through Hudičev graben or climb up to Tovsti vrh along the Celje Mountain Trail.
