Access to starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Maribor highway, take the Celje - center exit and continue driving in the direction of Laško and Zidani Most. The road leads us through the center of Celje, then before the Savinja brings us to a roundabout with a fountain. Here we continue "straight" over the first bridge (direction Laško and Zidani Most) and follow the road to the next traffic-light intersection, where we continue left over the second bridge across the Savinja. Immediately behind the bridge at the intersection we continue right. After approx. 500 meters we arrive at the underpass under the railway track (on the right side a large parking lot and starting point in Zagrad), drive through it and continue straight past the fire station in Zagrad. We follow the road through the village, which higher in Zvodno brings us to a smaller intersection at the bus stop, where we notice signs and pointers for Grmada right, Hudičev graben straight, parking lot 1.2 km straight. We continue straight towards the new parking lot (2020), and the road gradually flattens and narrows. New parking lot - our starting point is located right by the road before the fish farm. Here we can park and set off on a trip along paths that lead either past Marija, or through Hudičev graben, or through Bojanski graben, or through Suhi potok. We can also reach the starting point from Dolenjska and Zasavje. In this case, we first drive to Rimske Toplice and then through Laško to the above-described second bridge, from where we continue according to the description.
Route description:
From the starting point, signposts for Hudičev graben direct us first along the road past the supporting wall back towards Celje, but already after a few steps sharply to the left onto a cart track leading into the forest. We follow the cart track for about 100 meters to the junction just before the ravine, where we leave the path into the gorge of Hudičev potok stream and continue left towards Pečovje or. Marija. We follow the marked forest path all the way to the next junction at the edge of the forest, where we join the Celje mountain trail (CPP) to the right on the forest road coming from the direction of Celje. Soon we encounter a new junction, where Barbarina pot joins from the left from the direction of Štor. We continue straight along the forest road past homesteads, and from here on we follow signposts for Barbarina pot for a while. Slightly higher, a narrower forest path branches off to the left, starting to ascend somewhat more steeply. Higher up, before the junction below Marija, some chains also help us, more as a fence than a handhold. At the junction, CPP signs direct us to Srebotnik, where we continue to the summit along the steep eastern ridge. In the last part of the path the steepness eases, and at the top a wonderful view awaits us practically in all directions, along with the Slovenian flag, bell, logbook, bench and stamp.
From the summit we descend along the western ridge and continue on the CPP. A little lower at the marked junction we turn left (straight down the ridge leads the path to Hudičev graben). We continue the descent via the southern access all the way to the saddle between Srebotnik and Ramanca. Here we follow CPP signs and continue right slightly downhill along the forest road. A few hundred meters lower we arrive at a new path junction or Hudičev potok, where the CPP path leads left uphill to Tolsti vrh, while to the right a path branches off along an unmarked trail to Bavč, Grmada, Celjska koča etc. We continue left uphill along the marked forest path, which gradually turns into a cart track and then a forest road. Higher up we reach a junction where we join the asphalt road to the right towards Tolsti vrh, but follow it only 100 meters. Then we leave the asphalt road and, following the signposts, continue along a short cart track through the forest and then along the forest road. Further on, past the only homestead in this section, we follow the path uphill through the meadow/pasture area and reach Tolsti vrh from the east. The viewpoint is located another 50 meters ahead to the west, from where the southern and western Posavje hills are visible.
