Description of mountain:
Bijele i Samarske stijene are a strict reserve and are located in the central part of Velika Kapela in Primorsko-goranska and Karlovačka counties. The reserve was proclaimed on January 24, 1985. On an area of 1175 hectares.
The relief includes numerous bizarre limestone rocks. On the stone blocks grows a forest of fir, spruce, and beech trees.
The highest peak of Samarske stijene is 1302 meters, and west of them are Bijele stijene with the highest peak of 1335 meters. In 1952, mountaineers of PDS „Velebit” from Zagreb built the „Ratkovo sklonište” cottage.
In the reserve are found the most diverse karst phenomena.
Of the flora, there are, for example, runolist, srčanik, and bedstraw. In the preserved nature live, for example, bears, weasels, dormice, and martens.
