Description of hut:
The mountain hut on Čemšenik is located at a pleasant altitude of 835 meters, nestled under the forested slopes of the lesser-known Baba (1119 m) and Javorov vrh (1434 m) in the Kamniško-Savinjske Alps. Since the hut is directly surrounded by dense and picturesque forest, the view from the hut itself is mainly limited to the immediate surroundings. This gives the hut a special, peaceful and authentic mountain atmosphere, away from the daily hustle and bustle.
The hut is an extremely popular spot for shorter hikes, as the access from Spodnja Kokra is short (approximately 50 minutes of walking) and follows an easy, marked path. Therefore, the hut is an excellent and safe choice for families with small children, elderly hikers, or as an afternoon escape into nature in all seasons.
For all visitors and hungry hikers, the hut is again regularly open every week from Thursday to Sunday, always from 8 AM onwards. The team at the hut will gladly welcome you with warm hospitality, refreshing drinks, and delicious homemade treats.
The hut on Čemšenik not only offers a pleasant stop but also serves as an excellent starting point or intermediate stop for longer and more demanding tours to the surrounding peaks, such as Javorov vrh, Potoška gora, Baba, or Mihčeva kopišča.
