Fürstenstand (Plabutsch)

Description of mountain:
Fürstenstand is the highest summit of Plabutsch hill at 754 m. It lies west of Graz and rises about 400 m high.

A lookout tower stands on the summit; it received its conceptual design in 1830 after a visit by Emperor Francis I and his wife Caroline. The tower is now under monument protection.

From the tower there is a nice view of Graz and western Styria.

An inn is at the tower, accessible via a 5 km asphalt road as well as several marked hiking trails.
