Grebengrad

Description of mountain:
Grebengrad is the ruin of a former mighty medieval castle, considered the second-largest defensive complex in the entire Croatian Zagorje (only Cesargrad on Cesargradska gora is larger). It is located on the easternmost part of Ivanščica, below the peak Veliki Lubenjak. The castle was first mentioned as early as 1209 and over the centuries changed many noble owners; among others, it was ruled by the Counts of Celje. Today the remains of the castle, which include parts of the defensive walls, towers and the former castle chapel, are a popular destination for hikers and excursionists.
