Hochfeilerhütte

Description of mountain hut:
The Hochfeilerhütte mountain hut (Italian: Rifugio Gran Pilastro) is located at an altitude of 2,710 meters on the south side of Hochfeiler peak, the highest in the Zillertal Alps. The hut has 30 beds and 60 additional mattresses. In winter, when the hut is closed, 6 mattresses are available. The hut is usually open from late June to early October. The first hut on the southern slopes of Hochfeiler was built as early as 1880 at an altitude of 3,400 meters. The hut at its current location was built in 1986.
