Kocbekovo zavetišče pod Ojstrico

Description of hut:
Kocbek Shelter below Ojstrica stands on Molička planina at an altitude of 1770 m. The hut was built in July 1894 at the initiative of Fran Kocbek, head of the Savinja branch of the Slovenian Mountaineering Association, and was the first Slovenian mountain shelter in the Savinja Alps.

Kocbek's hut was regularly maintained during the summer months until World War I, but after the war it began to sadly deteriorate. In 1999, with the help of the local and grazing community and dedicated locals, it was restored under the name Kocbek Shelter.

The hut is open on weekends in June, throughout July and August, and as long as weather conditions permit in September. It is modestly equipped, but it is possible to get something to eat and also to sleep.

Immediately above the hut there is also the Molička chapel, from which a beautiful view opens up to the surrounding peaks and Robanov kot below.

In front of the hut there is also a spring with water.
