Description of mountain:
Lopatnik is an easily accessible two-thousander above the Zapleč pasture. Its diadem-shaped summit rises between the Vrata saddle and the Krnčica ridge. The summit has no register box or stamp. From it open beautiful views to much of the Julian Alps and beyond. There are many World War I remnants on the summit, reminding us at every step of the harsh times soldiers endured here.
The summit often gets shrouded in fog and clouds by late morning, swirling around Krn. On hot summer days, choose early morning hours for the ascent, as the south slopes along which the path winds are exposed to the sun all day.
