Description of mountain:
Olperer is a 3,476-meter-high mountain in the Zillertal Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is the main peak on the Tux ridge (Tuxer Kamm) and is often crossed in the summer when climbers travel from the Olperer cottage to the Geraer cottage. It was first climbed on 10 September 1867 via the southeastern ridge (Südostgrat) by Paul Grohmann, Georg Samer, and Gainer Jackl. On its northern side is a ski slope, known as the Hintertux glacier on the Gefrorene-Wand-Kees glacier (also named Tuxer Ferner).
